We are so excited for you to join us on the University of Wyoming campus!
Once you book your flights, you must fill out the student arrival form. If your family is joining you, you must also complete the family arrival form. Please make sure to enter detailed travel and arrival information so that the on-campus team can trace your travel progress.
To ensure a smooth transition to your new home, plan to arrive on the official move-in day for Spring 2025, which is January 16, 2025. Airport pickup is available from Laramie Regional Airport (LAR) to campus and will be provided to students that arrive on business days during the week of January 13 – 16, 2025.
Any transportation from Denver International Airport (DIA), which is about 2 driving hours away from your destination, the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming, must be arranged by the student as we do not provide pickup from Denver International Airport.
Students arriving in Laramie before Thursday, January 16, 2025, can move into the residence halls starting Monday, January 13, 2025. All additional days in the residence halls before move-in day (January 16, 2025) will be charged to the student at a per night rate and must be communicated to the Student Success Coordinator for preparation purposes.
Students that arrive prior to Monday, January 13, 2025, must arrange a hotel at their own expense or must have off- campus housing accommodations prepared. Transportation will not be provided to bring students from the hotel to campus to move in, thus it is the students’ responsibility to arrange transportation to come to campus for move-in.
However, early arrivals are optional and require that the student has submitted their arrival details, at least, three weeks prior to move-in date (mhoferm1@uwyo.edu) in order to secure accommodation in the dorms during the week of move-in date. Early arrivals are encouraged to communicate with the Managing Director of Wyoming International in advance (mhoferm1@uwyo.edu).
Late arrivals after the start of class must be approved by the Managing Director before departure to the United States. An unapproved arrival after the start of class can result in a denial of entry to the United States at initial port of entry (airport).

There are two options to get advising and register for classes:
1. We can connect you with your advisor before your arrival on campus:
If you have enough time before your scheduled travel, we can connect you with your advisor to arrange for a remote advising session either via e-mail or Zoom. You should then be able to register for classes. Please reach out to your Student Success Coordinator at studentservices@uwyointernational.org to learn more about your advisor and how to connect with them.
2. Class registration upon arrival on campus:
If you are not able to connect with your advisor before you arrive on campus, advising appointments and class schedules will be arranged upon arrival on campus. We will connect you with your advisor in person to go over your course scheduling details and you will receive all tools to register for your classes once you are here.
You’ve been admitted to the University of Wyoming, now comes the time for our Online International Pre-Arrival Orientation. In our Online orientation you will be given a brief overview of some important parts of campus, of immigration regulations, and more. The information in the Online orientation will help you as you prepare for your journey to the University!
This online orientation is REQUIRED.
Students who do not complete this online orientation prior to the start of classes will have a hold placed on their UW account which will prevent them from changing their spring classes or registering for summer or fall classes.
There are many things to consider when preparing for university, let alone moving to a new country! To make your transition to the US easier, we’ve put together a list of everyday necessities.
If you are arriving for the spring semester, you will be arriving in Laramie during winter season, which means that temperatures will be colder than you might be used to, and we want to make sure that you have what you need in order to stay comfortable and warm. Consider bringing the following items with you if you are arriving in January:
Warm winter coat with a hood
Warm winter boots with good traction
Long-sleeve shirts and pullovers
Wool hat
Gloves
Scarf
Long underwear or stockings (I know this sounds funny, but you will love them!)
Warm socks
There are also plenty of shopping opportunities once you get here. However, you want to be in somewhat warm clothes when you arrive here in the Rocky Mountain region.
Mandatory International Student Orientation will be held on August 22 and 23, 2024 starting at 8 am. You will receive an orientation schedule once you arrive on campus. Orientation will help you successfully kick start your academic career and you will receive a full campus tour, get help to setup your student account, and hear important information about Laramie and its wonderful community.
